seven studies

A week of looking, drawing and looking again.

For one week, give the class a single habit: look at one ordinary thing each day, draw it for ten minutes, and then photograph the drawing. It’s a small ask, and by Friday the pile of seven studies says more about how a student’s eye is changing than any single “finished” piece could.

The order matters, so keep it. Don’t sort the set into best and worst; lay the studies out in the sequence they were made and let the gaps between them show. Then write one short line under each, the way a catalogue would, and let the numbers do the pointing.
